Finasteride is prescribed for treating male pattern baldness. Please take not that finasteride should never be used in women because of its effect that might cause problems when bearing a child. Corticosteroids are also prescribed by doctors and it is most effective when injected to the bald area. It is also most effective in treating alopecia areata.
